Bench Coats

Founded in the mid-90’s, Bench, which began as an exclusively menswear brand, now enjoys popularity among young men and women alike for their cutting-edge urban style and up-to-the-minute fashionable offerings.  Ironically, Bench is self-described as ‘anti-fashion,’ which only seems to increase its demand and popularity with those who are fashion-forward.  Having integrated itself with the Manchester music scene, Bench is a brand sported by the famous and non-famous alike, and its achingly hip fashions make it popular across the UK and Europe.

Bench clothing takes classic styles and adds their own twist.  The classic hoodie, for example, would sport the easily recognizable Bench logo somewhere vertically printed on the jacket, like on a sleeve or along the zipper.  They might also come in other materials other than the typical sweatshirt material, such as fleece, which would also make for warmer outerwear on a crisp day.  A girl’s bomber jacket might be given a fur lining and detachable fur sleeves making it convertible to a vest, while a male’s bomber jacket would have contrasting leather sleeves.  Parkas come in a wide variety of colours, lengths, and styles for both sexes, from waist to knee-length, some fur-lined and others with leather accents.  Military, fatigue-like jackets are also popular, specially distressed to make them look like they’ve actually seen some action; some styles even come with fake patches on the shoulders and sleeves.  There are also a wide variety of lighter jackets available, such as fleece shells, suede zip-front jacket, padded girls’ jackets, sweater coats, and track jackets.  Many of these styles, like the hoodie, are popular for layering as part of an outfit and not just as outerwear.   

Bench has also put a new face on youth clothing, giving smaller children the option of looking just as stylish as big brother or sister.  Miniature military green, fur-lined parkas are smart and quite adorable on young boys, while fleece-lined 3/4-length padded coats are warm and fashionable coat choices for young girls.  The casual yet stylish urban nature of Bench clothing makes it popular for both schoolyard and weekend play, just as the adult clothing lines can see university students from day to evening, from dull lectures to a brew at the pub, yet is still stylish enough to take you on dates and help you to make a sharp, stylish impression for any setting.  And if you’re lucky enough to work in a casual setting, Bench clothing can help you to stand out from your dull co-workers.
